High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission
Federica Mogherini is the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission. She has served in this position since 2014, prior to which, she was the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy. She was the Head of the Italian delegation to the NATO parliamentary assembly from 2013 to 2014, and was a Member of the Italian Parliament (2008-2014) and Member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (2008-2013). She has been a Member of the Italian Institute for Foreign Affairs (IAI) since 2008 and was a Fellow of the German Marshall Fund for the United States. Ms Mogherini has a degree in Political Science from the University of Rome. She is married with two children.
