Deputy Director of Emergency Preparedness and Response, WFP
Sheila Grudem is currently the Deputy Director of Emergency Preparedness and Response for WFP, the largest humanitarian organization dedicated to food assistance in the world. Prior to assuming her current position, she was the WFP Peru Country Director. She also served as the WFP Chief of Humanitarian Policy and Transitions unit in Rome, as well as the WFP Deputy Country Director in Tanzania, and Head of the Refugee Programme for WFP in Ethiopia.
Before joining WFP, Ms. Grudem worked as a Humanitarian Affairs Officer at the UN Department of Humanitarian Affairs in Angola and Albania and served as a community development officer in the US Peace Corps in Belize.
She holds a Masters in International Relations from Columbia University where her studies focused on refugee issues, international affairs and management.
